You will be guided by structured goals & objectives and will have responsibility to deliver on inspiring projects. We will support you throughout the months to ensure you make the best of your GE experience. Your manager will offer coaching and mentoring, and the Company will provide the opportunity to connect with other interns across Italy. Major activities include:

• Database support simplification in cloud: mySQL, create, migrate, backup, restore
• Migration of code from OpenGE to GitHub
• Misc. DevOps tasks such as documentation, CI/CD maintenance
• Migration of applications to cloud
• Developing applications using Predix platform & Spotfire visualization tool

The new intern will have a chance to learn about Predix as well, GE’s leading IoT platform.

• Be involved in migration of IT processes and tools, system and process implementation, bridging IT and the business as an enabling function
• Identify business needs and determine solutions to business problems which may involve change management from an IT perspective
• Get involved in end user trainings

Technical development

• Implement latest technology in the architect team (BOX.com APIs, internal integrations, etc.)
• Learn to customize GE internal mobile apps (native iOS & HTML5)
• Research new technologies (Handhelds, wearables and mobile, internal tools)
• Enhance Business intelligence: Tableau dashboard customization/development
• End user support in operating systems
• Support manufacturing sites’ IT systems

• Master Degree in the following disciplines: Computer science, Computer engineering, management engineering
• Academic Excellence
• A good knowledge of Italian and English is mandatory
• Confident Microsoft skills - Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Passion for technology
• Knowledge of relational databases (such as Access or similar)
• Knowledge of Operating research tools (such as SAP or similar) 
• Knowledge of Programming languages (i.e. C, Visual Basic)
• EU Work Permit

• Process oriented
• Curious, flexible and open minded
• An experience abroad (study or work) will be considered as a plus.
